Abstract

In the context of open integration, cataloging librarians are facing new challenges of knowledge service. How to improve the knowledge service ability of Chinese book cataloging librarians is guided by the idea of competition and cooperation. Based on Porter's Five Forces Model, this paper analyzes the current situation of competition and cooperation of Chinese cataloging librarians, defines the driving factors for cataloging librarians to respond to the competition and cooperation decision, establishes the competition and cooperation goal by referring to Vygotsky's theory of zone of proximal development, puts forward the differentiated competition and cooperation strategy of knowledge service, and explores the realization ways for cataloging librarians to develop into metadata librarians: breaking through the role bottleneck, seeking the integration platform, and deepening the knowledge service.
