The American Library Association (ALA) Library of the Future Award is a technical professional recognition award which rewards the innovative application of information technology in library user training projects. It is closely related to user information literacy education. This paper uses the methods of network survey and literature research to introduce ALA Library of the Future Award from the aspects of setting up background and purpose, application conditions and selection process, selection criteria and awards, award situation, etc., in order to extract the practical experience of American libraries in carrying out user information literacy education from the perspective of this award-winning project. By further summarizing and analyzing the characteristics of awards and some award-winning projects, combined with the actual situation of information literacy education in China's libraries, the enlightenment of optimizing information literacy education in Chinese libraries is as follows: establishing reward system, carrying out diversified cooperation, innovating form and content, taking user demand as guidance, and establishing special service team.
